      Yinchuan is a hub of communications both in Ningxia and the surrounding areas. Yinchuan Hedong Airport (INC) is located 19 kilometers (about 12 miles) east towards the city zone.

      The Airport has opened the gateway to airlines that carry passengers to many major cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian, Kunming, Chongqing, Urumqi, Shenyang, Changsha, and Nanjing. There are eight flights to Xian, five flights to Beijing and two flights to Shanghai everyday and altogether over 220 scheduled routes to many destinations weekly.

      Regular shuttle buses will take you to the airport from urban districts, the fee is about CNY15. It starts from the Century Building (at 24 Yuhuangge, Beijie) via the International Hotel (at 365 Beijing, Donglu), on to the Booking Office of China Air Express (at Minzu Beijie) and finally to the Civil Aviation Building (No. 87, Shengli Beijie). When the bus arrives at the Civil Aviation Building it is approximately one and a half hours prior to the planes take off time. You can also take a taxi to the airport from the city zone which will cost you around CNY30.

      By Train
      Yinchuan Railway Station is at Bao-Lan Railway (Baotou to Lanzhou) is connected to every main line of travel and reaches to most ports in coastal areas. In addition, Zhongbao Railway (Zhongwei in Yinchuan Province to Baoji in Shaanxi Province) is connected by the New Eurasia Land Bridge that can take you directly to Middle Asia and Europe via Xinjiang Province. There are nonstop trains from Yinchuan to Beijing, Lanzhou, Hohhot, Baotou, Datong, and Zhangjiakou, etc.

      By Long-Distance Bus
      Yinchuan long-distance Bus Station lies near South Gate Square. There are now nearly 30 long-distance bus routes going to every city or county of Ningxia as well as some areas of Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi Province. No.1 and No.2 bus can take you to the station.

      The basic fare for taxies in Yinchuan is CNY 5 (within three kilometers) you pay an additional CNY 1 or 1.2 per kilometer for further than three kilometers. Generally the taxi fee is within CNY 10 in the city zone, and the fare from the city center to the Railway Station is about CNY 15.

      Note: the taxi fee between 23:-05:00 is a littler higher than during the daytime.
