Day 1  Arrival in Beijing

Our guide will pick you up at Beijing airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.

Day 2  Beijing sightseeing

Visit the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.The Beijing Duck Dinner is served at a famous restaurant followed by a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre.

Day 3  Beijing sightseeing

Visit the Badaling Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will be driven to have Sichuan food at a local popular restaurant. Visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb in the afternoon. The a la carte dinner is served at a famous Cantonese cuisine restaurant in the Wangfujing area.

Day 4  Beijing - Urumqi

Visit the Summer Palace. Take a flight to Urumqi and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5  Urumqi - Turpan

Transfer to Turpan and check in at the hotel. Visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda.

Day 6  Turpan - Dunhuang

Visit the Gaochang Ruins, the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves and the Flaming Hill. The caves were palace temples of the Huihu Kingdom ( Huihu was the ancestor of today's Uygur). Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Dunhuang.

Day 7  Dunhuang sightseeing

Pick you up at the railway station and transfer to the hotel. You will experience a short camel-riding along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Lake. Breakfast is on your side.

Day 8  Dunhuang - Lanzhou

Visit the Mogao Grottoes. Take a flight to Lanzhou and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Waterwheel Garden.

Day 9  Lanzhou sightseeing

Visit the Binglingsi Grottoes. Bingling" means "thousand Buddhas" or "ten-thousand Buddhas" in the Tibetan language. The Grottoes carved into the cliffs of red sand-stones at both ends of Dasigou (valley) was first constructed in the Western Qin Dynasty, and continuously went on expansion on a massive scale through the dynasties of Northern and Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Shui, Tang, Yuan, Ming, and Qing.

Day 10  Lanzhou - Xining

Take a soft seat train to Xining and check in at the hotel. Visit the Ta'er Monastery which abounds in fascinating Buddhist stories as well as arts and crafts of superb workmanship. and the Dongguan Mosque which  is one of the largest mosques in northwest China.

Day 11  Xining - Xian

Take a flight to Xian and transfer to the hotel. After enjoying the a la carte lunch at a local famous restaurant, visit the Great Mosque and a local family in the afternoon. A sumptuous buffet dinner will be served for you at the hotel this evening.

Day 12  Xian sightseeing

Visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. To avoid having the poor food at the site, you will take highway back to downtown to have lunch at a well-known Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the City Wall. This evening you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Dinner Show in Tang Dynasty Palace. Day 13  Xian - Shanghai

Visit the Provincial History Museum. After lunch, visit the Hanyangling Museum, the Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi on the way to the airport. Take a flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel.

Day 14  Shanghai sightseeing

Visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden. After lunch, take a cruise tour on the Huangpu River. The farewell dinner is served at Central Hotel, whose restaurant Wang Bao He has a history of around 260 years and is the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine. The memorable dinner will be followed by the Portman Acrobatic Show at the Shanghai Centre Theatre.
