Amnye Machen Mt. located in Amdo is the second highest mountain in Tibetan area and local people regard the mountain as one holy place. Each year lots of Tibetan Buddhists trekking around the mountain for 8 days or so on foot.Legend says that if a person walk around the Mt. once,whose sins will be forgiven by the god. The average elevation around the mountain road about 4000 meters. The highest passes are more than 5000 meters. The climate around the mountain is very easy to change. For few minutes you can experience four seasons before the mountain glacier. The best season for trekking: from mid-June to late September, even in the hot summer the weather is cold in the evening. |
Day 1 Beijing Arrival
Arrival in Beijing, be met at the airport by the tour guide from CTE, free sightseeing in the afternoon.

Day 2 Beijing-Xi'an
Fly to Xi'an in the morning, be met by the tour guide from CTE, then drive directly to visit the terra cotta warrior format built in China's Qin dynasty of more than 2,000 years ago.After the world wonder visit, go to Huaqingchi pond which was a royal bathing place during the Tang dynasty.Transfer to XI'an city proper for overnight.

Day 3 Xian-Xining
Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Lesser Wild Goose Pagoda, stone calligraphy tablets, the ancient city wall built in Ming dynasty city, take the flight to Xining in the afternoon.Be met by CTE tour guide and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4 Korkornor lake sightseeing
Visit Kumbum Monastery which is one of the 6 most famous monasteries belong to the Yellow Sect of TIbetan Buddhism, after lunch go to visit Korkornor lake(Qinghai lake) and Ri-Yue shan Mountain(Mt.Moon and Sun).

Day 5 Huashixia Gorge
Drive to the Huashixia Gorge via Dawu, appreciate the grassland scenery along the way.

Day 6 Huashixia-Mt.Amnye Machen
Continue driving to the basement of Mt.Amnye Machen,camping at the base camp and get ready for the treking arond this holy mountain the next day.

Day 7 Mt.Amnye Machen Trekking
Start trekking around Mt.Amnye Machen.

Drive Back to Dawu town from Mt.Amnye Machen.

Day 17 Dawu-Xining
Drive back to Xining via Guide and visit Lajia monastery on the way.

Day 18 Nantsong nunnery
Drive from Xining to Lijiaxia to visit Nantsong nunnery.

Drive to visit Xiarang monastery in Jianzha and to go to Tongren.

Visit Longwu monastery and upper wutu n monastery and drive to Xiahe.
