Day 1 Arrive at Beijing
Arrive at Beijing airport, being met by our English-speaking guide at the airport and transferring to the hotel. After your long journey, you'll appreciate the opportunity to rest and relax before dinner. Meet in the evening for a Peking duck welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2 Forbidden City, Children's Community, Kongfu Show
After breakfast we take a short drive to Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world and the symbolic center of China. We take a look at the buildings on the square, enter the Forbidden City and spend the whole morning searching through this vast and magnificent seat of the emperors' power. For afternoon we pay a visit to Children's Community for Extracurricular Activities and interact with local kids by joining one of their classes. As alternative, we may tour the modern National Center for Performing Arts. Resembling an island made of thin air, rising from a man-made lake, the building houses an opera house, a concert hall and two theatres included in a titanium and glass shell which houses the public space. Late afternoon we transfer to enjoy a Kung fu show, getting in touch first-hand with traditional Chinese Martial Arts.

Day 3 Mutianyu Great Wall, Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall
This morning, we drive 2 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Take cable car up to the Great Wall on the top of the mountain or hike 1,000 steps up. On the Great Wall, we can spend 1-4 hours for hiking around and take a toboggan down the hill after our picnic lunch on the Great Wall.
On our way back to down town, we can take a quick look at the Olympic venues from the outside.
In the afternoon, we visit the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall, for a general picture of Beijing's past and future during the urban development process. The huge model of present day Beijing city is the highlight.

Day 4 Temple of Heaven, Hutong Tour
We visit the Temple of Heaven this morning, where we see landmark of old-line Beijing; the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest. As the biggest park in Beijing, the Temple of Heaven is also an activity center for the retired, who usually gather within the park doing variety of exercise and entertainments. We may mingle with them playing Tai-chi and have a glimpse of their leisurely life on the way, with a singing of Peking Opera flowing into our ears at times.
We then embark on a hutong tour including lunch with a hutong family. Sitting on Old-Beijing style pedicabs, we take a look at a local commoners life among the narrow hutong valleys. We then enjoy some free time after the hutong tour.

Day 5 Lama Temple
This morning we visit the largest Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Beijing, Lama Temple. It features a treasury of Buddhist art, including sculptured images of gods, demons and Buddha, as well as Tibetan-style murals. If you wish, we will also tour the nearby Ancient National Academy, with an exhibition on ancient imperial examinations. The trip ends after a vegetarian farewell lunch.
