The Yangtze River, the longest in China and the third longest in the world. It is about 6,380km long.It originates at the foot of the Jang-gyen Deuruk Glacier of Geladandong Peak, which is the main peak of Tanggula Mountain Range. The seracs stretch about dozens of miles which look maje stic and magnificent. Totohe River is its source. Day 1 Arrive in Beijing

Day 2 Beijing-Xining
Fly to Xining, 2350 m above sea level , the capital of Qinghai province. This city is mainly inhabited with Han Chinese and Tibetan s but also a home of Uygur, Kasak and Hui minorities.

Day 3 Xining sightseeing
Guided excursion to Kumbum Monastery ,60km,acc.in Qinghai Hotel
After breadfast we drive to visit Kumbum monastery (Ta'er Si) , which was built in 1560 and also one of the
six grand monasteries in Tibet. Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Lamaistic "yellow hat sect", was born t here.
As Kumbum-monastery has always been playing an important role to connect the Mongolian with the Lamaism,
today many Tibetans and Mongolian come to this place for worship.
After breadfast we drive to visit Kumbum monastery (Ta'er Si) , which was built in 1560 and also one of the

Day 4 Xining-Dulan
Drive 440km to Dulan,acc.in Xingdu Hotel
Dulan is a small town on the way from Xining to Golmud.Located in the southeast corner of the Tsaidam Basin.
The inhabitants there are mostly Han Chinese and Hui Muslims,also some Tibetans and Mongolians.
The best hotel there is Xingdu Hotel.

Day 5 Dulan-Golmud
Drive 360km to Golmud,acc.in Grand Salt Lake Hotel
Golmud,2,800 m above sea level,is the second largest city in Qinghai,and has developed very fast during
the past decades.It is an important traffic point for people to go to Lhasa,Dunhuang or Xinjiang.
Golmud means a confluence of the rivers in Mongolian. It's called a Pearl in Gobi Desert.

Day 6 Golmud-Totohe
Drive 420km to Totohe,acc.in hostel
Totohe is a very small town situated at the bank of Totohe River,which is the uppermost stream
of the Yangtze River.
The first bridge on the Yangtze River is at the edge of the town.The altitude is 4,800m above sea level there.

Drive 250km to the source of the Yangtze River,camping
