According to the latest announcement from Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), during the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, passengers whose flights are delayed are free to have their tickets rerouted.

It states that no matter what causes flight delays, airlines should provide passengers with free services such as dining and accommodation in time; no matter whether their tickets accord with the conditions for rerouting, as long as passengers are willing to reroute their ticket, the subsequent airlines should accept passengers' requirement. The ticket fare must be counted by full price.

Previously, if flight delays are caused by the bad weather, airlines are not responsible to provide any service mentioned above; they only help passengers contact hotels without paying for the accommodation fee; if the delay is caused by the airlines' own reason, airlines are not responsible for any compensation so long as the delay time is within four hours.
